Every Small Business Needs A Website – Here’s Why

Wednesday, April 9th, 2008

Don’t think you need a website for your small business?

Here’s why (in my opinion) you’re 100% wrong…

  1. You must have an online presence. Your customers and prospects expect it. Your website puts you and your business directly in their house. It can put you firmly in the front of their mind. Everyday more people use the internet to search for businesses within their local area. And with Google local area search it’s even easier for your customers to find you (if you have an online presence). It’s a big advert for you business, you’re not restricted to the yellow pages or local paper.
  2. You can use your website to further serve your customers, it is easy to offer customer service through your website. You can use faqs, support forums and help desks to offer quick and easy solutions to any hot questions or objections your prospects might have, so you can easily turn them into paying customers.
  3. Your website can raise your public profile. Market it properly and you can easily get the edge on your competition.
  4. You can use your website to sell more of your products and services. You can publish testimonials from happy customers to reassure potential customers (social proof) and boosting your legitimacy.
  5. Your business website can be used to educate your customers, clients, and staff, (and investors). You can provide training videos and instructions for your customers so that they can get more from your products. You can use you website to keep your clients up to date on projects you are working on as well as using it as a hub for internal staff training and notices.
  6. By having a website you can instantly tap into worldwide market place. The “Global Village”. Your website is a non-stop, never sleeping sales man. Open 7 days a week, 24 hrs a day, you can reach a market and customer base bigger than you could ever imagine.
  7. A website allows you to test new products and sales material quickly and cheaply. No longer do you need to spend £1000s of pounds on “traditional” product development and testing methods.

If you are serious about building a profitable small business you must have a website.

Yours for bigger profits!
